The new vice president of the company’s largest unit was facing the greatest opportunity in his career. He was the first “outsider” who was not developed from within the organization to lead this European division of the global company. As one of the high performance units in the company it seemed as if he had everything to lose and little to gain. The challenge was connecting to employees that had tremendous performance records. Our coach worked with the VP and helped him to work out his plan for success. In the process he developed a better insight into one key area he had missed at times when it may have been critical. Thanks to the coaching, the VP went on to lead his division to success and then onto a key CEO position.
